I received the following email question in response to the below post:
"Hi Sandy,
You noted that I shouldn't use free email accounts like "gmail" or "hotmail" for my business. Is there ever a time when you think they are okay to use?
Thank you,
Amy P."
Hi Amy,
Absolutely, there are times when a free email account such as "gmail" or "hotmail" or "yahoo" are great and those times are IN your business, but not FOR your business. Let me explain...
Email accounts you use FOR your business are ones which your clients, customers and prospects see. It is a form of marketing and you always want to put your best foot forward in your marketing efforts -- this is where your email should be [email protected] or [email protected]. The important thing is that it ends with "yourdomainname.com" like mine does with SandraMartini.com.
Email accounts you use IN your business are ones which no one sees but you AND which allow you to keep your primary inbox clean and ready for clients and customers.
For example, if you subscribe to other e-newsletters or ezines, you can use [email protected] so they don't clutter up your inbox (unless you open them quickly). Many article submission sites also require an email account to send notices to -- as you can get TONS of these, a free account is great to use. Then of course there are all those pesky office supply stores and their daily emails.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Dedicated to increasing your profits,
Sandy
